Description:
TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company with offices located in Golden and Wheat Ridge, CO, is looking for an intern with a strong passion for 3D design. The ideal candidate would be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university. The CAD Engineering Intern will work with project leaders and engineers to design systems including new process concepts, experimental apparatuses, commercial demonstration units, and full-scale systems. Roles and Responsibilities: Create preliminary designs of real and conceptual static process equipment and interconnecting piping for various applications using SolidWorks Update existing CAD models and drawings as requested Perform basic engineering calculations Document and perform various experiments Convey complex information clearly and concisely Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excels at SolidWorks (CSWP preferred, but not required) Spatial intelligence (the capacity for mentally generating, rotating, and transforming visual images) Ability to communicate design intent through 2D fabrication drawings Basic understanding of GD&T Excellent organizational skills and ability to track details Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to manage and execute multiple projects in parallel Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of process plant piping systems (e.g., routing, valve specification, etc.) Experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) Experience with AutoCAD Welding Machining Familiarity with safety procedures Physical Demands: Lift up to 40 pounds Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time Ascend and descend stairs and ladders No sponsorship, relocation, or housing stipend available for this internship.Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, without benefits as this is a Summer Internship and temporary.In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors as education, experience, skill set, and/or location.
