Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is seeking an LPN or RN to join our team full-time as a SUD (substance use disorder) Community Nurse. This is an office and community-based position that requires light travel to community sites in Knox County. This position provides a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous PTO package, Health/Dental/Vision insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution. Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is a Federal Loan Forgiveness Participant. The Freedom Center, a non-profit community behavioral health center, has been providing quality behavioral healthcare to adults and adolescents for more than 45 years and seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals living with mental health issues and substance use disorders . The SUD Community Nurse will provide health education, overdose and naloxone administration training, infectious disease screening, and medical treatment referral in community-based settings for individuals with OUD/SUD. They collaborate with internal and external team members and providers to deliver care to clients. The person in this role will exhibit a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive approach when communicating with clients and their families. Confidentiality is critical. In addition to also being an advocate for patients, the SUD Community Nurse will also support clients in the following ways: Distribute naloxone kit, safe sex supplies, and fentanyl test strips to clients with OUD/SUD. Provide rapid HIV, Hepatitis C, and pregnancy testing to clients with OUD/SUD. Provide medical care for injection site wound evaluation and refer them for medical treatment and vaccines. Complete and maintain proper documentation of activities/treatment to assure compliance with agency certifications and accreditations, and State and Federal laws. Maintain logs to track data and submit regular reports to Clinical Director for the HRSA RCORP implementation grant. To be qualified for this position, you will need a minimum of two years' experience as a Registered Nurse OR four years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must be licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. Experience with behavioral health, community health, prevention, substance use, or mental health highly desirable. Applicants must be able to pass a BCI check and post offer/pre-employment drug screen. The Freedom Center is an equal opportunity employer.
