About this position: The Substation Operations Engineer is primarily responsible for design and project management of relay and substation projects. About this job: Implement creative, innovative, and cost effective solutions in relay and substation projects designs Design, estimate, and manage substation and infrastructure projects Oversee construction contractors and subcontractors for various projects Develop annual work plans and schedule projects Perform economic analysis including estimates on construction work sites and assessment of cost designs Manage capital projects and assist in development of substation and relay budgets Provide technical support for transmission and distribution operations Design and evaluate projects to ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, NESC, and company standards Perform technical and safety training for crew members, contractors, and subcontractors Travel to jobsites, off-site meetings, and trainings (up to 60% travel per year if available) including overnight stays when necessary Work all required hours including evenings, nights, and weekends along with on-call rotation Support the Substation/Relay Operations Management team with development and execution of annual work plans Serve in a capacity as project engineer to insure budget and schedules are met for construction and maintenance activities requiring initiative and sound judgment Provide backup for Supervisors and Engineers during periods of leave Perform individual lifts of supplies and materials weighing up to 25 pounds All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives Am I right for this job?
