As the largest workers' compensation provider in Texas, we help injured workers return to a productive life, give businesses the tools to thrive, invest in our communities, and empower our employees to do their best work.As a Subrogation Specialist, you will conduct claim investigations to identify subrogation opportunities and pursue subrogation recoveries following the Texas Labor Code, Texas Workers' Compensation Act and Division of Workers' Compensation rules and internal procedures. You will report to the Supervisor Subrogation and enjoy a hybrid-flex work schedule. Responsibilities & Qualifications In this role, you will: Acquire documents, facts, and evidence directly from the claim file or through the use of agentsAnalyze information obtained to make determination on third-party liabilityIdentify legal issues that impact liability and damages related to the subrogation claimCorrespond with liable third parties, adjusters, and attorneys to assert and protect the company's subrogation interestWork with supervisor, staff attorney or outside counsel regarding strategy for hearings, mediations, and trialsNegotiate third-party settlement of lien reimbursement and future credit within established authorityBe a company representative at mediations in person or by phoneComplete file documentation, including required data fields in claims system, and maintaining diary notes to ensure completion of assignmentWork with other departments, including Claims, Employer's Liability, Underwriting, Legal and Safety Services, regarding subrogation issues It is required that you have: A bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.Zero to two years' experience handling subrogation claims or adjusting liability or workers' compensation claims for a level I; at least two years' experience for a level II or equivalent education, training, or experience.Obtained a Texas worker's compensation or all-lines adjuster license within the first 90 days of employment for a level I; have a current Texas workers' compensation or all-lines adjuster license for a level II.
