The church was launched in 1949 under the name of Faith Church. They have been under the leadership of Lead Pastor Kurt Truckesess since 2008. In 2013, they launched their multi-site initiative and changed their name to CrossWinds Church in 2014. Each campus provides live worship and live teaching each week. CrossWinds averages 490 people in attendance across both campuses, while the Spirit Lake Campus makes up 370 of that total. With a mission for Reaching People with Jesus , CrossWinds values the areas of Bible, Community, Gospel, Outreach, Discipleship, Family, and Culture.The church is seeking a Pastor of Student Ministries to join the team of the Spirit Lake Campus. This dynamic candidate would be one of two student pastors, within the church body and the only full-time student minister at the Spirit Lake Campus. The church is looking to hire an energetic and creative man to serve students, leaders, and parents with excellence. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership for the middle and high school students on the Spirit Lake Campus: Develop spiritual maturity in students. Encourage students to assume leadership roles in the student ministry programs and the rest of the church family. Empower student leaders to develop and execute ministry. Work with adult leaders to develop a ministry plan that incorporates the wisdom and skills of adult volunteers. Foster spiritual growth in students through an annual ministry plan. Build relationships with students to encourage, equip, and counsel them. Basic administrative responsibilities with the student ministry (budget, fundraising, communications). Collaborate with the Spencer Campus family pastor on student retreats, mission trips, ministry philosophy, and the annual calendar. Provide training opportunities for parents. Fill the pulpit as requested. QUALIFICATIONS: Fulfills the character qualifications and duties of an elder in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-16. Demonstrates wisdom in decisions and actions. Intentional leadership in the areas of discipleship and development. Outgoing and engaging personality with a strong passion for student ministry, leaders, and parents. A team player and team builder who focuses on the good of the entire organization. Willingness to align and affirm with the Statement of Faith Core Values of CrossWinds Church. Education A Bachelor’s degree preferred, though not required. Experience 2-5 years of relative student ministry experience preferred.
