Our Interview Process: At Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. we believe in finding the best talent and ensuring they're the right fit for our team. Our comprehensive interview process is designed to not only evaluate your skills and experience but also give you a taste of what it's like to work with us. Here's a breakdown of our process: 1. Initial Phone Screening: We start with a casual conversation to discuss the basic details of the position and to introduce you to our company culture. During this call, we'll also explain our interview process and answer any questions you may have. 2. In-Person Interview with HR Manager: You'll have the opportunity to meet with our HR Manager to further discuss the position, your qualifications, and how you align with our company values. 3. Background Check and Drug Test: To ensure the safety and security of our team and clients, we conduct a thorough background check and drug test as part of our hiring process. 4. Working Interview: Part A: Day 1-Day 2: During the first phase of our working interview, you'll complete the First Sun EAP training. This comprehensive program familiarizes you with industry-wide professionalism standards through training guides, videos, and knowledge tests. Part B: Day 3-Day 5: In the second phase, you'll engage in on-the-job training specific to the position you're applying for. For example, if you're interviewing for a Sales Support Specialist role, your duties may include: Answering phones and recording messages Receiving incoming calls from potential customers and documenting information in our CRM software Facilitating communication within the Sales Department Creating and distributing marketing materials Maintaining accurate records of sales activities Depending on your performance and the complexity of the role, this phase may be extended by another 5 working days. You'll be compensated at a rate of $12.50/hour for this week-long working interview. At the end of this stage, you'll have the opportunity to negotiate your starting salary with upper management as you transition into a full-time employee. Position Overview: The Structural Engineer will play a critical role in our company by designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural elements for residential and commercial buildings. This position requires a strong technical background in structural engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering safe and efficient designs. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design, analysis, and project management within the construction industry. Responsibilities: Design and analyze structural elements, including beams, columns, foundations, and retaining walls, using engineering principles and software tools Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with building codes, regulations, and project requirements Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to develop comprehensive structural designs that meet client expectations and project goals Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, identify structural issues, and provide recommendations for repair or reinforcement Review and approve construction plans and documents to ensure compliance with structural design requirements Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the building process, addressing questions and resolving issues related to structural elements Perform structural analysis and modeling using software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar programs Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in structural engineering technology, materials, and best practices Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of South Carolina, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the construction industry Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar programs Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) is a plus Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience 401K after 90-days Health and Supplemental Benefits after 90-days Professional development opportunities and room for growth within the company How to Apply: If you are a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer looking for a rewarding opportunity with a reputable company, we want to hear from you!
