QUALIFICATIONS: · Journeyman Mason must be able to work with concrete block completing custom work on distinctive projects. Must have 3-5 years of equivalent work experience. Qualified candidates need to have above average skill and speed in laying block. Candidate is required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent. · Must be reliable and hardworking. Required to have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work. · The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, including working on hands and knees for extended periods of time. Work in high, precarious places such as scaffolding and ladders. Work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat or cold. Attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy are required. DUTIES: · Journeyman Mason must be able to display a variety of masonry skills including: Participating and collaborating with the crew to ensure safety, quality and productivity goals are met; ensure proper installation of wall ties, flashings and laps of paper to job specific standards; measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs and levels; remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools, and finish mortar joints with jointing tools, for a sealed, uniform appearance. Other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent. Must observe all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions. Must be able to follow instructions precisely, and work with others in an organized manner.
