About the job We are the cross-product abuse and crisis management hub of Trust and Safety. We coordinate cross-functional response to high-sensitivity escalations, connecting dots and synthesizing all incident intelligence, and driving the issue to resolution. Partnering cross-functionally across the business, we strive for a 360 view of cross-product risks facing Google to provide incident command and mitigation assurance. In this role, you will help Google stay ahead of abuse and deliver trusted and safe experiences to users. You will leverage domain expertise, technical know-how, and a cross-product perspective to manage a wide range of risks, from fraud and abuse to misinformation and misuse of user data at scale. You will maintain our strategic preparedness and response programs, addressing user and trust risk issues, combating emerging threats, and promoting a culture of resilience and adaptability.At Google we work hard to earn our users' trust every day. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience in data analytics, cybersecurity, technology research, anti-abuse, policy or related fields. 5 years of experience in risk management, crisis management, or a related field. 2 years of experience resolving escalations and communicating with internal stakeholders. Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python). Ability to work non-standard hours, including differing work rotations/shifts, weekends, and holidays. Preferred qualifications: 3 years of experience in crisis and reputation management. Experience working with Google products, infrastructure, and types of online abuse. Responsibilities Identify potential strategic risks, conduct impact assessments, and develop mitigation strategies to manage high-stakes events. Develop and lead projects that contribute to crisis management. Develop working knowledge of cross-platform risks to mitigate gaps and develop readiness initiatives for potential crises. Lead proactive planning across the organization to ensure robust crisis readiness and response. Review past incidents, identifying strategic actions for improvement, and drive initiatives to strengthen future response. Take command in critical incidents minimizing negative user and organizational impact. Build and maintain relationships with intelligence, enforcement, legal, policy, government affairs, and local teams to address issues. Manage escalations and crises across multiple complex issues. Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our incident response standard operating procedure.
