This position will work on projects that can range from evaluation of financial initiatives, growth initiatives and M&A projects.This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience, have responsibility for a variety of projects and engage with key decision makers. The Strategic Analyst - Intern will assist the organization with gleaning data driven insights that lead to meaningful action. Reporting Structure:The Strategic Analyst - Intern will report to the Director of FP&A as a part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team. There are no direct reports reporting into this role. Responsibilities * Build intuitive and detailed financial models that will be used to evaluate strategic alternatives. Document operating procedures * Provide financial support related to new business opportunities, M&A, and special projects * Perform detailed financial valuations (i.e., discounted cash flow) and complex analyses * Develop & maintain due diligence check lists * Gather research (competitor/ market, macro, consumer) supporting a wide array of strategic initiatives that will provide insights to senior leadership * Analyze financial and market trends to identify opportunities and risks * Prepare presentations to demonstrate results to senior leadership * Evaluate new initiatives by creating detailed business cases to evaluate and support decision making (i.e., ROI, business use cases, scenario, and pricing analysis etc.) * Provide analysis and findings to help derive data-driven insights to better guide strategic decision-making * Interact cross-functionally with stakeholders at various levels * Ad Hoc Projects supporting Director & Vice President FP&A Qualifications * Undergraduate or graduate student with an anticipated graduation date in 2025 in Finance related major with GPA of 3.0 or above preferred * Proficient in Excel/PowerPoint skills; Business Objects and other mining tools; Data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Qlik Sense) * Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail * All candidates must have eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. and must be physically located in the continental U.S. for the duration of internship. Working time zone is Eastern Standard Time in New York City. * Worker Designation: requires a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office * Ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and customers. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and content of the work, and complies with information confidentiality requirements where applicable * Ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment and quickly grasp new concepts by demonstrating and applying knowledge of these tasks timely and accurately * Ability to maintain effective relationships by collaborating with customers by fully understanding and meeting their expectations.
