Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Job responsibilities and duties include: Build application services on-prem & public cloud to deliver a comprehensive platform that enables our developers to rapidly deliver high-quality, impactful, scalable, secure, and reliable services. Lead initiatives to improve reliability, scalability, and observability of the applications and platforms supported by the team using data-driven analytics to improve service levels. Design, develop, and engage in the creation of software and systems to increase product reliability and organizational efficiency by collaborating with engineering teams as an embedded SRE. Utilize expertise with Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, etc.). Create and monitor SLIs and SLOs to set and remain within error budgets. Engage in regular knowledge sharing activities and retrospectives, and relentlessly support one another to gain knowledge, remove barriers, and grow as individuals and as a team. Apply methodical problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and be able to own and drive projects to completion. Troubleshoot production incidents in real time and when providing 24*7 On call support. This position has no direct reports and no management discretion nor authority. Minimum requirements: Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or any related IT or Engineering field of study, plus at least three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of the above-stated primary education and experience requirements, the employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or any related IT or Engineering field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained. Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, or knowledge with the following: 1. Microservice architecture, Middleware technologies, Operating Systems (Linux, Windows), and Networking. 2. At least three of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Shell, Groovy, or Perl. 3. DevOps tools such as Ansible 4. YAML file to write playbooks. 5. Logging/application monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, and Cloudwatch. 6. Public cloud technologies: OCI and AWS. 7. Configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, and Packer. 8. Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins 9. Log management and ELK Stack using Elastic Search, Logstash, and Kibana No travel required. Work from home (WFH) benefit available; must be able to attend meetings in the Austin, TX office, as required.
