ABOUT THE ROLE F&M Trust is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Finance team. The new team member will have their office located at Corporate Headquarters in Chambersburg, PA. Over the past several years the Finance department has taken advantage of multiple technologies to create great efficiencies within the department. This has allowed the department to focus on more fulfilling core and strategic functions of the department, and ultimately the addition of this role. The individual will work closely with all members of the Finance team and other internal stakeholders on a variety of ongoing responsibilities. The successful candidate will accurately prepare, or assist in preparation of, a variety of internal and external financial reports required by various regulatory agencies. In addition, this individual will reconcile the bank's investment portfolios, post to and maintain the general ledger of the bank and parent company, maintain the general ledger interface with loan and deposit applications, monitor and maintain the fixed asset and lease accounting systems, reconcile expense accruals, and more. FUTURE ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: This is an important role within the succession plan of the organization. Due to expected bank growth and inevitable retirements, this individual will have opportunities for advancement within the Finance Department. For an individual with comparable experience we have a more senior Staff Accountant role that would be accompanied by a competitive salary commensurate with functional experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting being preferred, or Associates degree in Finance or Accounting with 4 years of relevant work experience Possesses basic financial statement preparation experience, or has an appropriate level of understanding of financial statements Inquisitive and analytical thinker; ability to explore things deeper than face value, uncover trends, etc. Possesses a high attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work independently Desire to learn new things and take on new responsibilities While not required, having an understanding of SEC reporting is desired If this is something that raises any interest, and you have the minimum experience and drive to excel in this role, we encourage you to complete an employment application.
