We believe in lean UX and prioritize the experience and the thinking over delivering simple wires. The Job You'll be working on various efforts. You may find yourself sharing your perspective as a UX subject matter expert on a call with stakeholders; or perhaps working closely with Process Designers to design an experience for our field inspectors; or maybe simply performing research to determine either user sentiment or usability; or a host of other activities that are part of the UX process.With minimal oversight, you'll be working on small to medium sized efforts, leading UX activities and acting as the UX expert. While you're creating experiences that bring delight to users, you'll have the chance to explore and incorporate into your work emerging technologies like computer vision models, wearables, AR/VR, LIDAR, and more. What you'll be doing ... Designing quality user experiences and tools that meet or exceed the goals of our stakeholders.Acting as the UX subject matter expert and the voice of the usersCommunicating conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of the user-centered design process to product teams, clients, and senior decision makers through wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed flow diagrams.Leading discussions with the development team, product managers, and stakeholders to communicate experiences and design.Participating in agile product development as an integrated part of a scrum team and contributing to Agile user stories.Visual design, including periodically designing iconography and other assets.Providing feedback to the team that is developing, maintaining, and documenting UX design standards and evaluation. Research duties Participating in and potentially planning and leading workshops to gather requirements to evolve designs.Interviewing users to understand current processes, pain points, and opportunities.Designing and conducting both informal and formal user testing, either collaborating with other designers, or independently.Periodically performing on-site observation and testing. Qualifications you need... You have at least 7 year's experience solving complex UX problems and communicating the experience to stakeholders and developers.Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or the equivalent experience.You are a strong proponent of the user and not afraid to speak up.You've worked with cross functional teams to achieve quality user experience.You think holistically, about the entire system, not just the screen designs.You're comfortable leading the discussion within a group.You like to explore new technologies and new ways of doing things.You're adaptable: you realize that sometimes things change, and you can roll with it.You know how to manage your time and deliverables.You're familiar with user stories within the Agile process.You've facilitated usability testing.You love creating intuitive user experiences that meet or exceed the needs of your users. You're skilled in standard design & wireframing tools (e.g., Figma) and simple prototyping tools (e.g. Figma/Axure) Experience that's a plus: Emerging user technologies Prototyping. We use prototypes to communicate design and for user testing. Initiative: you know how to drive the UX design and research process to get results. A keen understanding of high-level artifacts (journey maps, personas, flow diagrams, etc.) Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work easily within larger teams Collaborative teammate that is happy to share ideas, give and solicit feedback from other designers, support with additional work when required Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work under tight timelines PDN-9bc95bde-730b-4a7f-a97f-e88cb216f62e
