As a Database Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that drive the success of our organization and our clients. What you'll be doing: Design, implement, and maintain database solutions using Oracle, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL. Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, and troubleshooting. Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization. Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions. Develop and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements. Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices. What you bring to the table : Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability and desire to learn technical skills. Demonstrated ability to express complex design ideas and technical concepts verbally and in writing. Strong ability to coach, support, work with and mentor individuals from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Extensive knowledge of the databases under your administration, be the first respondent to database problems that arise, and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting. Proficient Data Guard, ASM, Enterprise Manager/Grid Control. Expert in SQL query writing and performance tuning What's needed- Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration. Minimum of 3 years of experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL database administration. Proficiency in database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, security management, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization techniques. Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. What's needed- Preferred Qualifications Oracle certification Experience with cloud database services on Azure. Knowledge of containerization technologies.
