About the Team The Supply Chain team focuses on keeping things moving across all aspects of our business. They make an impact by ensuring our products get from the vendors to the DCs to the stores in the most efficient and timely way. Their goal is to improve each step within the process, so we have the right product at the right place at the right time for our pet parents. About the Location Hybrid Position: This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart's FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. About the Job As a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst, you will be empowered to support short and long term operational / strategic business activities and develop, enhance and maintain operational data and models that will have an impact on business decisions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your analytical skills to create valuable solutions to improve data visibility for Supply Chain by providing actionable insights to both Supply Chain Senior Leadership & day-to-day operators. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Create valuable reporting / dashboard solutions to improve Supply Chain data visibility. Develop strategic partnerships with both senior leadership & the operational teams to not only understand their needs today, but proactively determine & iterate on the long-term plan for data visibility & reporting. Own the development and maintenance of production and ad-hoc operational reports. Project manage the reporting impacts of Supply Chain system updates to ensure smooth integrations and transitions. Liaison between the functional and IT teams for technical reporting work that needs completed for Supply Chain. Provide actionable insights through the collection, and compilation of Supply Chain data. Continuously innovate how we report and analyze data, improve operational efficiencies, and deliver outstanding customer service. Be a SQL subject matter expert and go-to person for the Supply Chain team. Provide training and enable our staff to leverage data for ad-hoc analysis. Organize current & future reports, data resources, and data tools to create a self-service platform for Supply Chain. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Support the creation of business requirements and functional design specifications. Identify gaps between business requirements and current reporting/data solutions and recommend options. Understand the business operations in detail; knowledgeable of current and possible future practices, trends, and information affecting multiple business functions and aspects of how they relate to other areas. Be the subject matter expert when it comes to understanding the data from the source supply chain application. Be able to develop creative and complex queries to source data. Create reporting solutions from start to finish. Source data from operational systems (WMS, TLMS etc.) and build out reporting in MicroStrategy, Alteryx or other applications. Deliver automated reporting at an optimized level that allows the business to review and take action to drive business outcomes. Develop and communicate a deployment plan for all reporting enhancements, follow release management principles to release the solution to the business. Provide consistent communication of the status/progress for all reporting projects to the leadership team. Train end-users and provide ongoing support as needed. Create, update and maintain detailed documentation of developed reporting solutions. Support and troubleshoot issues for implemented solutions as needed. Partner closely with the IT team and vendors to troubleshoot and problem-solve any issues that may arise. Translate highly technical data and concepts into simplified stories and actionable insights in response to business needs. Use technical skills to query large databases & apply visualization skills to share insights. Be comfortable operating in fast paced corporate environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities & deadlines. Be comfortable exploring new data sets for insights as requests evolve in scope & complexity. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION Minimum 3 years of experience working with data systems with a solid understanding of relational databases and database structures (i.e., SQL, Oracle, Teradata) Minimum 3 years of experience developing in business intelligence/visualization software (preferably MicroStrategy, Power BI or Tableau) Experience with writing SQL queries and stored procedures required Experience performing, managing, and delivering on analytic projects/initiatives required Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required Experience with data manipulation software (such as Alteryx) preferred Supply Chain experience preferred Experience researching data needs, determining scope, and reporting feasibility while communicating with various levels of leadership Experience working within a large, matrix organization Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to adapt in a challenging dynamic atmosphere Excellent critical thinking and problem problem-solving skills About the Culture At PetSmart, we work hard to create a culture where every associate feels like they truly belong and we celebrate the unique stories, backgrounds, and experiences our associates share.
