Sr. Automation Technician - Maintenance Pay Rate - up to $36.66.00 Based on Qualifications Shifts Available 1st Shift (Mon - Fri 6:00 am - 2:30 pm) Job Description Installs, programs, integrates, troubleshoots, and repairs control, instrumentation and automation systems for plant production and processing equipment. Works with robotic equipment such as CNC's, PLC's, robot controllers, positioning systems, vision systems, automated fixture devices and parts orientors/feeders. May be responsible for equipment upgrades and process improvements. Instructs others on work instructions and specific techniques. May occasionally operate a forklift. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications. Responsible for quality of work and to appropriately resolve unusual operating conditions. Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs. All other duties as assigned. May require successful completion of specific education, training or certifications. Minimum Education: Two year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics Preferred Education: Four year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics Minimum Skills/Experience: one year in similar position, mechanical aptitude, effective computer use , basic Math skills, independent decision-making, and effective self-management. Preferred Skills/Experience: Above plus - Strong Computer and math skills, and five or more years' relevant experience gained through on the job instruction, apprenticeship programs, and increasingly more complex assignments. High level of independent decision making, effective self-management, proven machine operations and/or mechanical aptitude and Functional Requirements Consistently able to: Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch and bend. Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truck Walk, sit or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks Push / pull 100lbs. See, inspect, and evaluate product quality Read and understand written work instructions in English Work in a non-climate controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
