POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will perform accounting functions of Dedicated Carrier Provider clients using the LAS methods. These functions may include supervisory responsibly assisting with transaction processing, recording, reporting, analysis and forecasting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Dedicated Carrier Provider Shared services functions: Oversee and assist with recording and posting of day-to-day financial transactions. Verify that transactions are recorded properly and in a timely manner. Maintain records and assist with creating reports and financial statements. Assist / oversee accounting services such as: General ledger entry and maintenance Accounts payable and account receivable processing Month-end closing and financial reporting including budget vs. actual analysis Cash flow monitoring Recommending ways to streamline processes and develop best practices Ensuring excellent customer service All other duties as assigned REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND/COMPETENCIES Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree A minimum of three years of accounting experience Multi location experience preferred, including experience in financial reporting Transportation Industry experience a plus Experience with QuickBooks a plus Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles Ability to work both independently and on a high performing team Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexibility and comfort working through transitions Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail Strict adherence to professional ethics GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS Office are hours are flexible. Typically, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations. Ability to travel if needed.
