Under the supervision of the Sports Director and in accordance with the principles of the YMCA, the Adult Sports Coordinator will be responsible for providing assistance and leadership to all adult sports programs. The Adult Sports Coordinator must have the willingness to project the YMCA representation by personal adherence to all policies and must exemplify the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. He/She must work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and ages. The candidate must also have the ability to interact regularly and effectively with participants, volunteers, children, staff, and community leaders. The Adult Sports Coordinator must be able to work a flexible schedule of at least 15 hours per week, with weekend and some holiday responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee safety and maintenance of sports equipment, fields, and gyms. Work to maintain control of program supplies Organize and maintain cleanliness of all sports storage areas and sports sites Prepare fields and gyms for practices and games Perform administrative duties as needed Assist with supervision sports sites, gyms, fields, and special events Work as a liaison to all officials, monitoring their activities and performance, ensuring safety and quality Officiate games as needed and adhere to the Code of Conduct and YMCA mission Assist with participant and/or captain meetings as needed Assist in processing volunteer applications as needed Assist in marketing and recruitment efforts as needed Create rosters and schedules Assist in maintaining discipline among all participants to ensure the comfort and safety of others Report all incidents to a supervisor immediately Adhere to risk management and safety practices of the YMCA, creating constant awareness and safe conditions for the staff, members, volunteers, and program participants Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Qualifications Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass a Criminal Background Check and MVR Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills Able to assist in resolving participants' concerns promptly/excellent conflict management skills Basic computer skills required Ensure quality member experience through effective communication and good community relations Ability to perform all job related duties as requested and as necessary Must comply with the organization policies, work rules, safety, quality standards and applicable local, state and federal legislation. Must maintain current CPR Pro/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood borne Pathogens training, Slips, trips, and falls training, Hazardous Communication training, new hire orientation and all other required trainings.
