Position Overview The World Shooting and Recreational Complex (WSRC) in Sparta, IL will serve as the Sporting Clays Manager that requires services to prepare and maintain facilities as well as schedule and manage programs/activities. The contractor shall organize, plan, execute, control and evaluate the sporting clay program daily shooting activities; develop and implement program policies and procedures to assure the safety and entertainment of shooters; establish long-term programmatic goals and objectives; develops and reviews public evaluations of shooting activities to ensure activity content and quality; review operations and implement changes to improve efficiency and attendance; implement and strictly enforce all rules and shooter safety regulations. The Contractor will perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope or similarity of the duties enumerated above. Essential Functions 1. Schedule and manage all sporting clays events at the site. 2. Ensures shooting activities and facilities are developed in accordance with rules and regulations of independent sporting groups. 3. Ensure safety protocols are established and enforced. 4. Ensure staff is available for maintenance, scoring, collecting fees, etc. 5. Implement changes needed to improve efficiency and attendance at events. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four years of college. Preferred Qualifications Prefers minimum of one (1) year of planning and participation in Sporting Clays events or similar events. Prefers knowledge of National Sporting Clays Association rules and regulations along with firearms safety. Prefers experience in repair of small machinery. Prefers ability to operate agricultural, industrial equipment such as tractor, UTV, forklift, etc. Employment Conditions All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position. Must be a minimum of 17 years old; Possession of a valid Drivers License; Requires ability to lift, carry, transport loads up to 25 pounds; Required physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities; Requires the ability to work most weekends, with an occasional evening or holiday; Have ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 9-10 hours; Ability to pass background check; Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
