Description:
South Plains Association of Governments is seeking a qualified individual to work in the 911 Department. This position will be involved with updating and maintenance to GIS data base. Provision GIS data to Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) mapping software and update and maintenance to the ALI database. Provide technical assistance to local governments, the U.S. Postal Service and any individuals tasked with the assignment and notification of addresses. Knowledge of the regional emergency communications system components. Knowledge of planning principles and database management. Knowledge of addressing principles. Skill in operation of computer equipment and software associated with database and GIS management. Familiar with MapSAG, ArcMAP, and ESRI products. Ability to develop and present working maps for addressing purposes and use with 9-1-1caller location technology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Experience in emergency communications or related field, plus high school graduation orits equivalent, supplemented by courses or experience in database management and GIS. An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the requiredknowledge, skills, and abilities.
