Metropolis is the culinary anchor of this new cultural cornerstone of Lower Manhattan and is honored to play a role in the final chapter of rebuilding the World Trade Center site. Its menu explores the rich culinary traditions of New York City through a modern lens with theatrical cocktails, a fun and worldly wine list, and gracious hospitality.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Sous Chef at Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in planning and preparing meals, managing kitchen operations, and supervising kitchen staff. They will also collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu items and ensure high-quality food production.Qualifications Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety regulations Excellent culinary skills and creativity Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Good communication and leadership skills Culinary degree or certification is preferred Flexibility to work weekends and evenings Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team
