We believe that our greatest strength draws on the different backgrounds, cultures, perspectives and experiences of our employees.Job SummaryThe Social Media Associate position reports to the Social Media Manager on the Health Communications Team at Westat. This position works with a collaborative social media team and contributes to social media monitoring, reporting, content development, and platform management across several public health projects. Hybrid (1-2 days) work schedule preferred; remote work arrangement available. Job Responsibilities--- Complete monthly social media reports that capture performance across social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.--- Schedule monthly and ad-hoc social media content using Sprout Social and manage real-time posting of content, as needed, on native platforms.--- Conduct weekly social media sweeps using Meltwater Explore and share social media engagement recommendations aligned with client engagement policies.--- Monitor social media handles daily for opportunities to engage with or amplify other accounts.--- Draft plain language social media copy on a range of important and emerging public health topics, including heart disease prevention, HIV prevention, and youth mental health.--- Support social media listening tasks and help gather insights on relevant inquiries.Basic Qualifications--- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field and 2 or more years of relevant experience.--- Experience in developing social media content for an organization/brand/public entity.--- Experience with social media reporting or marketing/communications campaign reporting.--- Experience with Teams and MS Office including Word and PowerPoint.Preferred Qualifications--- Experience with social media management and reporting platforms such as Sprout Social.--- Experience in developing social media content for public health campaigns or federal government.--- Experience contracting or working with/for communications, public relations, or government agencies.--- Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Facebook Business Suite, Basecamp, and Meltwater Explore.Other Required Qualifications --- Demonstrated communication skills--- Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients--- Organization skills, including time management ability--- Detail orientedWestat offers a well-rounded and comprehensive benefits program focused on wellness and work/life balance.
