Our client is an award winning niche practice in Newcastle, who specialise in shipping and international trade law. The firm are happy to consider candidate from a variety of different background but who have a real desire to practice in this exciting and contemporary area of law. The firm specialise in a number of different areas of Shipping law including Admiralty, Bills of Lading, Offshore, Marine Personal Injury, Ship Sale, Purchase and Ship Finance. This particular opportunity will involve handling predominantly contentious matters but will also involve non-contentious law. You will be working with an array of high calibre clients which includes P&I clubs, ship owners, charterers. Due to the nature of the work, it is vital that the successful candidate has outstanding academic ability. You should feel confident handling a fast paced and demanding case load. The firm is happy to consider candidates from various different backgrounds and we have known them to be particularly “creative” with their recruitment in the past. Previous recruits have included candidates who have a background in Commercial Litigation, Banking and Corporate; however, the firm are happy to consider candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in the area of law. The firm will consider applications from candidates who are due to qualify in September and the maximum level of PQE considered is c. 4 years.
