HOURS: WED-SUN rotating 2 weeks days and 2 weeks afternoons Who We Are The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food and clothing; daily hot meals; emergency shelters for men, youth, families, women and children; transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Men's Centre. How You Will Make an Impact The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of hospitality, availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity with a demonstrated knowledge of issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, substance use/addictions and developmental disabilities. Demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills Responsibilities will include direct client contact in all aspects of service necessary for the comfort and safety of individuals accessing shelter services Ability to carry own caseload and work within a client-centred perspective Possess a working knowledge of issues related to gender-based violence, trauma, homelessness, mental health and substance use Work from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive and feminist framework Experience supporting the development of personalized.
