Highly competitive compensation and bonus opportunities Medical reimbursement 401k with a 4% company match Paid vacation and holidays Long-term disability insurance Life insurance Company provided uniform, tablet, cell phone reimbursement Professional certification reimbursement Company provided training and continuing education Boot Allowance Employee appreciation events and outings Sick Leave (earned at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours) Duties and Responsibilities: Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs all aspects of duct systems Fabricate, assemble, install, sheet metal equipment and HVAC duct Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken, and recommended solutions for poor duct performance Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures, and safety regulations sufficient to ensure that work is performed in compliance with applicable laws and codes Proficient in reading blueprints and comprehending CADD drawings to understand the layout of air conditioning duct and duct venting systems. Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Demonstrate sound math and measurement skills. Familiar with the methods to install and maintain air-moving equipment. Familiar with the requirements for proper installation of fire-rated wall and floor penetrations including fire dampers, access doors, and fire caulking systems. Able to work in confined spaces and familiar with air testing and other requirements for working in confined spaces. Meet safety standards and building regulations. Knowledge of legal restrictions and safety rules. Use hand and power tools as well as machines to measure, cut, and install the duct and associated equipment. Inspect structure for installation of the proper hanger for installation of duct or related air handling equipment. Locate and mark the position of ducts and penetrations in walls and floors using a ruler, laser, level, or plumb bob. Cut openings in walls or floors to accommodate duct using hand and power tooling including core drills, wet saw, and cutting torch. Have a basic understanding of sheet metal theory for the fabrication and installation of rectangular and round ducts. Familiar with the assembly of multiple types of the duct and duct connections including TDC, Ductmate, slip and drive, Tapins, round slip, and flange connections. Have the knowledge to connect ducts using screws, bolts, gaskets, sealers, and seal tape, for air-tight connections. Understand duct testing requirements. Understand LEED requirements to keep duct sealed and dirt-free during handling and installation. Required Qualifications: 2+ years of sheet metal experience Rhode Island Sheet Metal License Possess a valid driver's license and insurable driving record Ability to pass a background check Ability to follow blueprints and understand technical instructions Solid communication/verbal skills, ability to work independently, and self-motivated Must be able to read blueprints, project specifications, schematics, construction, and installation drawings.
