OE ENTERPRISES, INC POSITION: Sewing Machine Operator LOCATION: Asheville, NC Minimum Qualifications: NO experience required . High school diploma or GED Salary Requirements: $15-16.00/hr Schedule: Work 4 days a week! ( 10-hour days Monday through Thursday ) Duties and Responsibilities: Produce materials for contract sales Assemble pieces of garments by matching patterns and/or dye lots Operate sewing machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis. Operate stitching machines to sew strips to the required sizes and shapes or join other pieces. Operate tackers, pocket-setters, buttonhole makers, hammers, and other machines to perform various operations in fabricating garments and other articles. Examine and repair garments as needed. Assist with production as needed Prepare and load production materials Assist the Production Supervisors at Industries of the Blind (IFB) as requested. Always maintain a safe work environment Act as a positive role model at all times Assure the use of safety standards, including proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Assure quality standards at all times when performing assigned tasks Communicate and work with IFB staff and communicate with OE Management Staff Perform all other duties as assigned Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 50 lbs. across a large warehouse Able to push carts with up to 100 lbs. of parcels across a large warehouse Able to lift boxes and items weighing up to 15 lbs.
