Issues such as marginalization, migration, diaspora, and the formulation of the Canadian canon are discussed. Estimated Course Enrolment: 45 students Estimated TA Support: none Class Schedule: Mondays, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Sessional Dates of Appointment: 1 January 2024 to 30 April 2024 (Winter semester) Salary: $9,457.90 (Sessional Lecturer1) $9,930.79 (Sessional Lecturer 1 – Long Term) $10,121.77 (Sessional Lecturer 2) $10,326.62 (Sessional Lecturer 2 – Long Term) $10,362.76 (Sessional Lecturer 3) $10,570.02 (Sessional Lecturer 3 – Long Term) Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree completed or direct entry to Ph. D. underway, with comparable or equivalent experience to the completion of a master’s degree in Humanities. Preferred Qualifications: Ph. D. in progress or completed either in Canadian Studies or any cognate field or discipline with a preference for Humanities approaches to recent Canadian fiction required. Demonstrated teaching and research expertise on issues relating to Canadian fiction is preferred. Demonstrated evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching is preferred. Description of Duties: Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
