The equipment technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning and safety of agricultural equipment used in farming and related operations. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in agriculture manufacturing equipment. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and scheduled repairs on tractors, harvesters, plows, and other farming machinery. Replace defective parts and components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems. Conduct tests and performance checks to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards. Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with the farm operations team to prioritize and address equipment maintenance needs. Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and practices while performing repair work. Stay updated on new equipment models, technology, and industry best practices. Perform duties in a timely and cost-effective manner to minimize equipment downtime. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in equipment mechanics is a plus. Proven experience in repairing and maintaining agriculture manufacturing equipment. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, electrical systems, and welding. Familiarity with safety protocols and industry regulations. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment components. Effective communication and teamwork skills. The mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring that agricultural equipment operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the success of farming and related operations. This position requires expertise in equipment mechanics, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining equipment in optimal condition.
