Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Service Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the development and execution of service strategies for consumer products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and serviceability, and develop and implement service processes that meet customer needs.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, or Product Engineer. 5 years of experience in people management. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field. Experience with data analysis in quality, reliability, and manufacturing production. Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Responsibilities Lead the technical development and execution of service strategies related to NPI product development of Consumer Hardware Service Operations. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand customers' requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide products design for repairability and serviceability. Manage the NPI service engineering team and ensure they have the resources and training. Track and report on NPI service metrics, such as refinding the Service Requirement Definition (SRD) for product design and tracing data security framework scores for all products.
