Closing Date: February 2, 2024 Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Approvals, the Senior Specialist, Regulatory Approvals is responsible for leading all aspects of the regulatory approval process for Teck Coal’s mine development projects, including research and development. To be successful, we are looking for a leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Someone who can effectively engage at all levels of the organization and has experience engaging and collaborating with Indigenous communities. A self-motivated, proven leader who collaborates well in a team environment, and who has strong organizational, and analytical abilities. The preferred location for this position is in the Elk Valley, but there is an opportunity to be located out of our Calgary or Vancouver offices, with regular travel to the Elk Valley. Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Support the Manager in providing leadership to the Regulatory Approvals team, including but not limited to annual and long-term goal setting, project priorities, resource planning and recruitment Lead a team of professionals, including supporting individual and team development objectives, setting expectations, and performance evaluations Strong understanding of Teck Coal’s commitments, including the Elk Valley Water Quality Management Plan and our Sustainability Strategy Goals Lead the team on Teck’s Project Delivery and Social, Environmental, and Regulatory Approvals (SERA) frameworks, delivery of applications, including participation in risk analyses, guidance on.
