Senior Software Engineer – Back-End / Integration

CFD Research is seeking an experienced Back-End Software Engineer with 5-8 years of experience in software integration. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of cloud, HPC cluster, and desktop deployment, as well as experience working with programming languages such as C++, Python, and Java. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing software integration solutions that meet our customers' needs working with a wide range of deployment frameworks, security levels, and proprietary and open-source applications. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to design and develop software integration solutions that meet business objectives. • Develop software solutions that integrate with various third-party systems, including cloud services, HPC clusters, and desktop applications. • Develop and maintain software design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability. • Review and evaluate new and existing software technologies to determine their potential impact on the business. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams to ensure best practices are followed. • Work with quality assurance teams to develop testing strategies and ensure high-quality software delivery. • Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies, and make recommendations to the team on best practices. Requirements: • 5-8 years of experience as a Back-End Software Engineer with a focus on software integration. • Proficient in programming languages such as C++, Python, and Java. • Experience in cloud, HPC cluster, and desktop deployment. • Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns. • Experience with software integration techniques, such as APIs, message queues, and ETL tools. • Write and execute unit tests and/or set up automated test suites • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities. Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferences: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred. • Experience using Atlassian tool suite or similar software management tools. • Experience in database (SQL or similar) design. Location: Hybrid, mostly Remote.
