We're building a team to make this vision a reality, who will focus on building innovative zero-to-one digital experiences to delight our customers and making step-change improvements to the existing moving experience to make it easier for our customers.This role will report to the Director of Digital Engineering, working on a dedicated platform services, pre-booking, post-booking or commercial engineering team. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll be involved in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing features. You'll write clean, functional, maintainable, and reusable code on front-end and back-end. You'll collaborate closely with our development team to ensure system consistency and to create a great user experience. You'll also perform UI tests to optimize performance. Ultimately, your work will have direct impact on the stability and user experience of our products. We work in an Agile environment, and therefore focus on building a long-term vision, and executing that vision in sprints by creating meaningful user stories for our development teams to deliver on. We dive deep into our data, as we believe that data can help us better understand our customers. Where data alone can't answer questions, we facilitate research to better understand our customers and how we can better build technology to help meet their needs. We learn rapidly, and bias towards testing new experiences quickly to see what works (or what doesn't), and we incorporate those learnings into our future roadmap. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive moving experience, including multiple container sizes, PODS City Service, packing supplies, connection to trusted local labor providers, and even car shipping.Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree- Comfortable working with both front and back-end languages in an agile environment- 5+ years of proven experience with multiple front-end languages and libraries (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, KnockoutJS, etc.)- 8+ years of proven experience with multiple back-end languages (C#, Java, Kotlin, etc.)- 5+ years of proven experience databases (SQLServer, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)- 3+ years of cloud experience focusing on migrating applications to cloud leveraging managed services (Azure preferred)- Excellent troubleshooting experience with issue detection and resolution steps with clear timelines- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills- Curious about new technologies and you're excited to find ways to implement them in your work- Self-starter with minimal supervision to oversee and drive projects forwardPreferred Qualifications- Master's degree- Working experience with CMS products like Sitecore and web frameworks like KnockoutJS- Exposure to working in a pair-programming environment- Experience with coaching and mentoring other developersUnsolicited Resumes from Third-Party RecruitersPlease note that as per PODS policy, we do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters unless such recruiters are engaged to provide candidates for a specified opening and in alignment with our Inclusive Diversity values.
