Competition # Posting End Date: February 06, 2024 City: Winnipeg Work Location: Mc Charles Department: Radiation Protection (Medical Physics) Union: MAHCP Hiring Status: Permanent Anticipated Start : ASAP FTE:1.00 Anticipated Shift: Days Daily Hours Worked: 7.25 Annual Base Hours: 1885 Salary: $39.645 /$41.218 /$42.863 /$44.581 /$46.268 Overview : Our experienced team is committed to providing comprehensive radiation protection services and holds the mandate of a regulatory role in the province of Manitoba. We deliver a wide range of radiation protection services encompassing ionizing and non-ionizing areas including radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology, radionuclide areas, industry and research, development activities, and present teaching and training programs. Reporting to the Head of Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics, the Radiation Protection Officer will register, inspect, and backss X-ray equipment operating in healthcare, education, and industry within the Province of Manitoba. The incumbent will follow established radiation safety and PHIA procedures, maintain a database for all X-ray equipment in the province, and participate in emergency preparedness and response activities. This position requires a degree of flexibility in the scheduling and work hours and will require an incumbent to work non-conforming shift patterns. REQUIRED: Graduate of an approved Radiological Technology Program (Radiography, Radiotherapy, or Nuclear Medicine) or a university degree majoring in Physics or other directly related discipline.
