Senior Quality Engineer

This job is on-site in Three Rivers, Michigan. This is NOT a remote job. Job Overview: Works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that quality is built into the product design and the production processes. Monitors and analyzes process and product data and works with team to effect continual improvement. Works with quality and lab technicians and provides guidance and training. Works with customers (internal and external) to resolve quality issues. Works with suppliers to resolve quality issues and facilitate continual improvement. Responsibilities Perform and analyze process capability studies Design and analyze DOEs Perform Gage R&R and correlation studies Lead 8D/A3 corrective action and problem-solving teams Supervise activities of quality technicians and lab technicians Work with a team to produce design and process FMEAs following joint AIAG/VDA guidelines Perform layered process audits (LPAs), 5S audits, and safety audits as assigned Participate in internal quality systems audits to support ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance Work directly with customers to resolve quality concerns and facilitate continual improvement Work directly with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and facilitate permanent corrective action Monitor process parameters and product characteristics to facilitate process control and continual improvement Compile quality related KPI/KPC data for management review Other duties as assigned Up to 10% travel Qualifications Minimum of 5 years as a quality engineer or quality technician in a production environment Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline Experienced in creating FMEAs, control plans, and work instructions Experienced in designing, performing, and analyzing DOEs Practical understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949:2016 requirements Experienced in general dimensional gaging using common hand gages (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) Experienced in general quality/performance testing Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a disciplined team Demonstrated problem-solving skills Strong math & statistics skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Minitab and MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint Reliable team player Perform job duties with a minimum of supervision Plastics extrusion and laminating experience a plus Automotive industry experience a plus ASQ CQE or CQT certification a plus Six sigma green belt certification a plus Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently About TekModo TekModo is an organization that is positioned as a Tier 1 technology integrator, founded for the purpose of assembling, supplying, and integrating new, highly innovative material and system technologies for the recreational vehicle, cargo, conversion, and marine industries.
