Summary: The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is based in Tacoma, Washington. The SPM is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the assigned Project Managers, Site Managers, Administrators, and other staff. The SPM will oversee managers responsible for a variety of projects in occupied and unoccupied spaces at a variety of military bases and commercial accounts across assigned geographic region. Projects range in size from small facility inspections, maintenance, and repairs to full building and base-wide refreshes, green field installations, and large upgrades. The SPM reports to the Chief Operations Officer. The position is based in Tacoma, WA. This position is responsible for fulfilling customer contract requirements in a timely manner while maximizing revenue and profit across territory. This entails effectively and efficiently managing cost to meet or come under the budgeted expense for labor, equipment, and materials. In addition, the SPM will ensure that he/she, their team, and any assigned sub-contractors or vendors, comply with Evergreen and customer specific policy and procedures, and ensure high quality service delivery. This position works with other SPMs, Engineers, Estimators, Company Owners, Accounting, Legal, and key personnel to maintain and drive improvements, lead client and team initiatives, and develop best practices for their area of responsibility. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Senior Project Manager who excels at high level contract negotiations and maximizing revenue by ensuring cost are controlled and change orders are created and approved. The SPM is detail oriented. In addition, the candidate should thrive in a fast paced environment and takes pride in their above average ability to deliver projects on time under tight timelines. The SPM should have excellent communication and problem solving skills. Experience developing and managing large programs is desired. Job Duties and Functions: * Meets or surpasses program, project, and business deliverables. * Implements measures, processes, and resource plans (financial, equipment, and FTEs) to ensure effective contract compliance and staff performance while mitigating risks and delivering optimal revenue and profitability. * Develops plans to maximize revenue, customer, and employee satisfaction and profitability. * Plans, prepares, and delivers comprehensive budget to secure adequate resourcing and profitability. * Compiles weekly, monthly, and quarterly status, operations, financials, and related variances reports for overall area and present to supervisor. * Creates action plans to address issues and ensure that team meet objectives, budgets, and schedules. * Demonstrates ability to identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks. * Reviews contracts, subcontracts, job cost reports, payment requisitions, change orders, contingency, job schedules, and other documentation and opine on their adequacy. * Tracks and reports on performance utilizing metrics to demonstrate adequacy and or under-performance. * Analyzes data and information to identify shortfalls. * Develops and implements corrective action plans that address misses and shortfalls. * Identifies financial risks early and mitigates accordingly. * Conducts periodic site visits to monitor the progress of installation jobs and review status of work completed during the period covered while ensuring that work is begin conducted in a safe manner, as expected and in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications. * Ensures compliance with contract, regulatory, and other requirements. * Champions safe job and work related practices and instills a safety first culture. * Partners with other departments including Safety, Engineering, and Quality to ensure alignment. * Develops relationships with, collaborates with, and effectively influences key stakeholders. * Ensures subordinate PMs and Site Management produce all project documentation accurately and timely. * Monitors progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines. * Maintains relationships with key customers, vendors, and sub and prime contractors. * Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources * Identifies and ensures team capitalizes on growth opportunities. * Travel 15-25%. Experience and Skills: Position Specific Requirements: * Bachelor's in Engineering with major in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Construction Management or additional 5 years of experience managing project; * Project Management Professional certification * Experience managing a minimum of 10 projects valued at $3M-$10M * Pass pre-employment and random background, drug and MVR screenings Supervisory Responsibilities: * Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. * Directly or indirectly responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluations for direct reports and ensuring the same occurs across overall work group. * Reviews and approves subordinate's recommendations for staff requisitions, selections, promotions, advancements, corrective actions, and terminations. * Ensures systems in place for tracking and delivering training so all staff have required certifications and experience required to meet contractual requirements and deliver high quality work product. * Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values. * Promotes Evergreen Fire & Security's Leadership Principles and values. Work Environment: * This job operates in the office and field. This role routinely uses tools, safety equipment, computers, phones, and routinely operate a vehicle or heavy machinery. Physical Demands: * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Travel: * This position requires up to 25% travel. Additional Requirements for Individual Role per Manager: * Self-motivated * Possess thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (negotiation, engineering, estimating, scheduling and safety) * Use strong collaboration and leadership skills * Read, understand, red line, implement and apply standards to complex documents affecting installation and maintenance projects, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, blue prints, CAD, site diagrams, surveys and drawings * Use excellent oral and written communication skills * Create positive customer service orientations * Develop collaborative team environments * Solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations * Use expert level analytical and quantitative skill * Develop strategic solutions * Add revenue by expanding within current clients and developing new business * Highly Proficient with Office, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project * Strong Technical & Design Build experience The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
