The Senior ML/AI Engineer is a dynamic and pivotal role within the AI Product team, tasked with leveraging deep technical expertise in machine learning, especially large language models (LLMs), to develop and iterate on AI-powered solutions that deliver tangible value to customers. This role requires a unique blend of technical proficiency, customer-centric focus, and a product-oriented mindset, enabling rapid prototyping, development, and iteration of AI features and products. Your key responsibilities will include: Technical Leadership & Development. Serve as the technical lead for developing AI-powered features and products, ensuring they meet high standards of scalability, reliability, and performance. Drive the end-to-end development process, from concept through deployment, focusing on solutions that address real customer needs and pain points. Be prepared to take on a management role as the team expands. Be excited about getting your hands dirty and building solutions that work! Customer-Centric Product Iteration . Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and client success teams to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and translate product objectives into technical specifications, choosing the best technological approaches and tools. Rapidly build and test customer-facing prototypes of increasing fidelity, employing a lean development approach to deliver incremental customer value. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Coordinate efforts to integrate AI module functionality into overall product infrastructure. Facilitate seamless communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure alignment on product vision and customer value propositions. Innovation and R&D . Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and ML, particularly in generative AI and LLMs. Lead exploratory projects and proof-of-concept initiatives to assess new technologies and methodologies that can enhance product capabilities and customer satisfaction. Product Strategy Contribution . Contribute to product strategy and roadmap planning, offering technical insights and recommendations based on technological trends. To be successful in this role you must have: 8+ years experience in engineering 3+ years experience building and shipping ML-based chatbots, including GenAI / LLMs Advanced engineering degree (MS / PhD) in AI/ML with hands-on experience in LLMs and GenAI Experience working with Python, AWS, MongoDB, PyTorch Proven track record of developing and shipping software products or features, preferably in a SaaS company with AI products and/or features Customer-oriented mindset, with experience in CI/CD or agile/lean software development methodologies and a focus on rapid iteration and feedback loops Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across different teams and disciplines The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive forward innovative solutions Preferred qualifications: 5+ years experience leading NLP projects Experience delivering successful customer-facing LLM-based solutions Experience building deeply integrated and embedded AI tools Knowledge of cloud-based environments tailored to AI systems Experience working with Docker, GCP/Azure, Hugging Face,TensorFlow, and open source / smaller LLMs Experience working with unstructured data and processing methods; ability to work with sparse data and provide solutions for uneven distributions of data Experience working in a fully remote environment About Us as an Employer: Ninety’s focus on helping organizations focus, align, and thrive isn't just for our clients.
