Senior Health & Safety Specialist - Portland, OR Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a full-time senior-level Health & Safety Specialist to work in our Portland, OR office. Our ideal candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support our industrial clients with health, safety, and related environmental services. You will design and manage projects, help mentor staff, participate in business development, work directly with clients to complete projects that require senior level expertise, prepare reports, and more. As a Senior Health & Safety Specialist, you will... Plan, schedule, and conduct or coordinate health and safety work for both simple and complex projects. Serve as the primary contact for clients and regulatory agencies. Work with clients to develop user-friendly, site-specific programs that can simultaneously comply with regulatory requirements and incorporate options to maximize efficiency. Identify project objectives and develop scopes, schedules, and budgets for project work. Assist in identifying project opportunities, developing proposals, and developing and maintaining client and community relationships. Be responsible for cost control, including defining how much time is available to others that assist on the project. Act as the primary interface with clients and regulatory agencies. Lead complex or sensitive discussions and negotiations. Ensure that budget and schedule requirements are met for projects. Lead project teams comprised of multiple disciplines to complete the project work. Incorporate detailed quality control review by others into your work and conduct detailed quality control review on work done by others. Work independently and solicit input from mentors. To thrive in this role, you must have... Bachelors or graduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health, science, or a related field. 7+ years' experience of relevant experience, experience at industrial sites/facilities preferred. Extensive experience in process safety management and health & safety program development. Sound technical capabilities and organizational and problem-solving skills. 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification Strong oral and written communication skills. Desire and ability to mentor junior staff. Ability to drive and willingness to travel occasionally to regional projects. Ability to effectively work as a team member, both individually and collaboratively. Who we are...
