Plan and design firmware that satisfy requirements and ensure well-integrated product development. Conduct failure analysis, evaluate and build firmware engineering for existing and new products. Validate engineering designs to ensure they meet documented requirements. Perform unit testing of firmware and troubleshoot bugs. Document firmware engineering designs and develop technical documentation. Assist system test engineers and firmware test engineers in solving engineering issues relating to software installation and operations. Ensure conformity with best engineering practices, technical standards, and quality criteria. Eliminate inconsistencies and deficiencies in engineering designs, development processes and configurations. You'll also ... Work with technical staff & test engineers to help resolve technical issues and develop technical and user documentation Expand your areas of expertise through training courses & seminars or other educational means Why you fit in The successful Sr. Firmware Developer will combine a positive, cooperative mindset, a high sense of integrity and work ethics, good listening skills, the ability to work in a collaborative environment, have the desire to be a part of a team of highly motivated self-starters and -MUST have - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related field Minimum 7+ years' experience in firmware/embedded micro-controller development or similar position, with experience in GPS Proven programming skills in C/C++ Ability to direct support staff in troubleshooting hardware and firmware using laboratory test equipment Strong technical writing capabilities Must be able to speak, read, and write fluent, grammatically correct English, at a level suitable for communicating with all levels of contacts for this position Exceptional PC skills Ability to work under pressure and a positive, can-do attitude Nice to have - Master's degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related field.
