As a(n) Senior Event Planner for our US Head Office office, you will contribute to our team by: Responsibilities Lead, manage, plan, organize and contract PCL events, conferences, meetings and sponsorships running simultaneously with budgets up to $1.5M for internal and external stakeholders Conduct research, find resources and make recommendations regarding event possibilities Collaborate, listen and translate ideas into creative events Develop and present written proposals, plans, agendas and budgets Negotiate with vendors to secure contracts, maintain budgets and ensure event needs are met Organize facilities and manage all event details such as lodging, catering, setup, entertainment, transportation, location, invitations, RSVP tracking and AV equipment Prepare materials, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc, as needed Manage all correspondence and communicate all budget, space, and vendor progress Work with marketing, communications and executives to promote event Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems Keep and maintain accurate records and contracts related to each event Working with minimal direction required Other duties as required Qualifications In-Office Position Bachelors degree in Event Management or related field, such as hospitality CMP preferred but not required Proven experience successfully managing multiple simultaneous meetings & events as a planner/organizer for a minimum of 10 years Proven experience successfully managing 100+ person events, budgets and contracts MS Office proficiency Exceptional problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills including speaking, writing and proofreading Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize Maintain professionalism and calm demeanor under pressure Strong negotiation skills to work out contracts and pricing with vendors Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong interpersonal skills both in person and on the phone, including experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse network of individuals and organizations Flexible to accommodate varied hours that accompany events Some travel required PCL is an innovative, employee-owned company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work every day. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $92,000 dependent on experience We anticipate this requisition will be open for a minimum of five days, though it may be open for a longer period of time.
