Paragon is seeking a Senior Database Developer as we continue to grow our team. Senior Database Developers design, implement and maintain databases with respect to data loading, backup methods, validations checks and reorganization. You will also provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing IS database initiatives across all areas of the organization. Job Responsibilities: Requirements gathering: Work with stakeholders (clients/internal team) to understand the requirements of the data migration project, including the data that needs to be migrated, the format of the data, and the desired outcome. Data mapping: Develop diagrams that map relationships between the data in the source and target systems and define how the data will be transformed and migrated from one system to the other. Data extraction: Extract the data from the source system and prepare it for migration to the target system. This may involve cleaning and transforming the data, as well as handling any data conflicts. Data analysis – Reviews/Validates the data for consistency and completeness. Data loading: Load the data into the target system and ensure that the data is properly formatted and integrated with the target system. Data testing: Test the data to ensure that it has been accurately and completely migrated, and that it meets the requirements of the project. Troubleshooting: Resolve any issues that arise during the data migration process, such as data errors or performance issues. Documentation: Document the data migration process, including the data mapping, data extraction and loading processes, and the results of testing and troubleshooting. Performance optimization: Ensure that the data migration process is optimized for performance, and that the target system is able to handle the volume of data being migrated. This may involve optimizing SQL queries or implementing indexing and caching to improve performance. Maintain access and permission of database users Write Structured Query Language (SQL) and SOQL (Salesforce) commands, extended stored procedures and SSIS packages to access/transfer data in and out of the database Diagnose system problems relating to database system and operating system of database Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or equivalent experience Minimum of 10 years of SQL Server programming experience Ability to work in all phases of database management Proficiency using Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL), SOQL syntax for Salesforce ,PowerShell, MS SQL Server Database Experience setting up/upgrading SQL Server Experience working with Azure SQL Knowledge of insurance industry terminology Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem solving skills Accuracy, thoroughness, and strong attention to detail Compensation and Benefits: $120 - $125,000 per year plus bonus Benefit package with health, dental, vision, life and disability coverage options 401(k) retirement plan option with company matching Generous paid time off policy - start with 18 days per year Paid holidays immediately upon hire - 7 standard holidays & 2 floating holidays of your choice We look forward to you joining our team!
