The Senior Business Development Manager plays a key role in Plano-Coudon's successful growth. This position champions business development for the company and drives the success of the yearly business plan. Responsible for leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new ones to bring in work, identifying opportunities and leads, and ensuring the company secures targeted backlog. This is the ideal role for a business development or sales professional in the AEC industry looking for expanded responsibilities and the chance to join a company poised for growth. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Champions and fully owns business development for the company. Takes ownership for the company's overall success in meeting the annual business plan. Leverages current contacts and aggressively seeks and cultivates new relationships with owners, owners' reps, architects, etc. Creates specific and actionable relationship management plans. Able to create and execute on business development plans through proactive client relationship management, outreach, and networking. Expected to work night events regularly. Generates leads and opportunities to fill the funnel and ultimately secure backlog for steady and predictable profitability and sustainable growth for the company. Conducts market research to anticipate opportunities, prospects, and trends in our key markets and in adjacent market sectors. Actively supports the Project Executives' business plan goals. Collaborates, provides guidance, coaches, and supports their business development and relationship building activities. Embraces and leverages technology and processes to track activities and milestones. Organizes, tracks, and reports on business development activities using Cosential. Supports pursuits in a wide range of ways, including proposal development, creating strategies to win, identifying differentiators, etc. Creates and delivers compelling presentations to external stakeholders. Continuously engages in professional development activities to further strengthen business development and acquisition techniques and tactics. Actively engages with industry trade organizations. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. At least 8 years of experience in business development in the AEC industry. Proficient using a CRM; experience with Cosential preferred. Strong relationship building skills; personable and able to connect with a wide diversity of individuals. Highly accountable Organized in their approach to work Able to meet with and sell to C Suite level prospects Strong sense of urgency Competitive; driven to win Willing to attend evening events regularly WORK ENVIRONMENT, EQUIPMENT, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands listed below are representative of those that will be required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasional bending, crouching and stooping throughout the day. Some light lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Typing and viewing of a computer screen required.
