Job Overview The Senior Analyst tackles the most impactful challenges facing Macy's and the retail industry today, by pressure testing the status quo, challenging assumptions, and ultimately driving toward better outcomes through internal alignment. They are responsible for creating executive-level presentations, analyzing data, and strategizing and delivering solutions to internal Macy's clients to promote growth and address the evolving needs of the business. Senior Analysts have the flexibility to explore various areas within Macy's, Inc., serving as generalists on a variety of internal projects of strategic importance across the enterprise. They work on project teams of various sizes, leveraging guidance and support from senior managers and direct supervisors, and may also work independently depending on the scope, audience, and deliverable. What You Will Do Apply analytical rigor and creative problem-solving skills to address strategic business challenges. Evaluate new and innovative concepts and approaches. Acquire necessary subject matter expertise to become an informed partner. Synthesize key insights and develop actionable recommendations. Cultivate trusting relationships with key stakeholders across various functions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop long-term strategies, establish strategic project management frameworks, and tackle complex challenges across different functions. Work collaboratively with other teams within the organization and with the broader Continuous Improvement team. Develop and deliver executive-level presentations. Demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Skills You Will Need Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to apply analytical rigor and creative problem-solving techniques to address strategic business challenges effectively. Innovative Thinking: Capacity to evaluate new and innovative concepts and approaches to drive improvements and better outcomes. Synthesis and Recommendation: Skill in synthesizing key insights from data and formulating actionable recommendations to drive business growth and address evolving needs. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ability to cultivate trusting relationships with key stakeholders across various functions and levels within the organization. Collaboration: Proficiency in collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop long-term strategies, establish project management frameworks, and address complex challenges collaboratively. Executive-Level Communication: Strong presentation skills, including the ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations tailored to different audiences. Communication Skills: Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including basic modeling, with Tableau skills considered a plus. Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills tailored to various audiences and project stakeholders. Reasoning Ability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment. A self-starter with a curious mindset who stays informed about market changes and new trends. Experience developing holistic strategies through structured, project-based approaches. Capacity to work independently with limited day-to-day guidance. Mathematical Skills: Strong proficiency in quantitative and analytical approaches, with experience working with financial models and analyzing large data sets considered advantageous. Other Skills: High-energy and passionate with a proven track record of delivering results. Executes with a "Teams Win" philosophy, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. Strong record of academics, extracurricular activity, professional accomplishment and leadership, as well as professional work experience 1-2 years' work experience, preferably in management consulting or investment banking. Knowledge and interest in retail, technology, and innovation. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
