Annie Malone Children and Family Services has an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer! Annie Malone Children and Family Services strives to improve the quality of life for children, families, older adults, and the community by providing social services, educational programs and advocacy. Summary: The Security Officer will protect people and property from possible external criminal activity. Provide security detail as needed and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. The Security Officer will always perform job duties with a constant awareness of surroundings, making note of any and all activity that takes place in the assigned area. The Security Officer must maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. Duties & Responsibilities: Externally patrol residential buildings and perimeters Escort of material and personnel Trained in Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Monitors all assigned areas; reports suspicious activities to local authorities Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA standards for all clients and families Completes all required training, including any training hours required by professional licensure board All other duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of previous experience dealing with emergencies and people with volatile behavior Must have a St. Louis Security Officer license or security guard training certification Basic computer skills including email, phone apps, etc. Able to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays Must possess a Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required Must have current automobile insurance for traveling between locations Willingness to obtain a Class E Driver's License within 30 days of hire required Must be authorized to work in the United States Competency-Based Qualification: Excellent observational skills and attention to detail Authoritative verbal communication skills Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings Ability to evaluate and work effectively with youth with emotional and behavioral problems Have patience and understanding with children; develop a sensitivity to the emotional needs of children No phone calls please.
