Our full-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday - no nights, no weekends, no holidays! Care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and be an integral OR team member from surgical fusion to total joint. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Scrubs surgical cases in own specialty independently and in other areas with minimal direction. Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning and seeks appropriate resource when necessary. Assists in the circulating role under the direct supervision of R.N. Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and other O.R. team members. Provides a safe environment for patient and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and department/hospital policy. Communicates effectively with patient, staff and physicians. Participates in the performance improvement process and assists with regulatory compliance throughout organization. Demonstrates competence in specified computer applications. Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Has current RN license with OR Scrub experience or has current Surgical Technician certification. Experience in Orthopedics preferred but not required. Maintains BLS qualification. Maintains ACLS qualification, or obtains within 6 months of hire. Ability to maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients and visitors, and perform job functions satisfactorily despite the stress of a hospital work environment. Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to perform in situations requiring set limits, standards and strict adherence to established procedures and guidelines.
