PAY RANGE: $19.43 - 24.50/hr DOE STATUS: Both PT/FT positions available in four different facilities HOURS: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm variable The Boys & Girls Club of Whatcom County Licensed Care facilities are looking for Lead Teachers! Do you find yourself drawn to positively contributing to today's youth at the earliest stages of development through play, have experience working with children, and have energy to engage with kids throughout their day? Ideal candidates will have one year minimum of experience within the infant through school age range. Teachers must have experience planning, implementing and evaluating activity plans to meet children's varying needs. They also must enjoy spending time outdoors (rain and shine!) and maintaining a calm environment with energetic play throughout the day. This is a collaborative teaching environment; therefore, this person must possess the desire and communication skills necessary to work as part of a team. We are looking for people passionate about enriching the lives of our youth at the earliest stages of development, who can foster relationships with their community, and are looking for a village to call their own. We invite you to view this video on our website: https://whatcomclubs.org/kids-world/ ) Please note: a cover letter and resume are required to apply to this position. 30-Hour STARS Certificate (Preferred, responsibility of cost is on applicant) Tuberculosis Test (required before hire, responsibility of cost is on applicant) MMR Vaccine (required) Fingerprinting for Portable Background Check (required before hire, responsibility of cost is on applicant) CPR/First Aid Card and Blood Borne Pathogens/HIV Training (preferred, responsibility of cost is on applicant) Food Handlers Card (preferred, responsibility of cost is on applicant) COVID vaccine completion High School diploma/GED required Must be at least 18 years of age School-aged teachers must be able to drive a company vehicle to transport youth to and from school (driving qualifications will be communicated) Benefits for employees: Monday - Friday schedules - no weekend work! Low or no cost childcare for most employees registered through MERIT Medical insurance for Full-Time (employee pays $81/month for employee only coverage) Dental insurance for Full-Time (base plan paid 100% by BGCWC for employee only coverage) Employee assistance program (free to all employees) Paid time off of 6.5 days first year (increases based on years of service) for Full-Time Sick Days accrual per WA State Sick Leave Law for part-time employees (1 hr sick accrued for every 40 hours worked) Part-Time employees accrue paid time off (PTO) at rate of 0.0250 with a cap of 37 hours per year Vision insurance (plan paid 100% by BGCWC for employee only coverage) Life Insurance/Supplemental/Spouse/Children Insurance available (50% of life insurance premium paid by BGCWC) for Full-Time employee Short Term Disability (50% of premium paid by BGCWC) for Full-Time employee Long Term Disability (50% of premium paid by BGCWC) for Full-Time employee 401k plan after 1 year of service & 1,000 hours worked
