Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Scheduler/ Pre-Registrar / Registrar to join the Registration team at the Outpatient Diagnostic Center! Description: This is a full-time position. The selected applicant will perform scheduling and pre-registration functions that include but are not limited to scheduling, pre-registering, and register patients in hospital computer system Meditech, contact patients to verify information, contact insurance companies electronically or on the telephone to verify insurance coverage and calculate patients estimated responsible at point of service, verify if prior-authorization is required and obtain authorizations. Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Previous clerical experience of one year, hospital experience preferred. Good customer service skills, involving answering phone and handling customer inquiries. Medical terminology experience and education preferred. Medical coding experience preferred, certification not required. Basic math and data entry skills required. Your Health, Our Passion!
