This person will report directly to our Safety Director and support all aspects of Safety on job sites in WA State. As a Field Safety Coordinator, your leadership and responsibility is to support the overall Safety Program and culture. Company Vehicle and gas card for use Drug Free Business Duties & Responsibilities: Be an advocate/leader for safety and accident prevention. Inspect and evaluate projects for hazards, compliance, and accident prevention efforts. Timely preparation of safety documentation (e.g., site safety plans, job hazard analyses, accident reports, job site inspections, Etc.) Conduct or Assist with new-hire safety orientations, both in the field and office Maintains records of safety performance metrics and training Recognize and perceive hazards and exposures and ability to act to prevent harm. Respond to and provide immediate project and facility safety needs Conduct accident/injury investigations, documenting findings, results, lessons learned, etc. Assist with administration of drug & alcohol program needs May assist with the management of workers compensation and other risk management claims/issues As needed, travel to various jobsites and offices operated by ICI which may require overnight stays and longer than usual days (14+ hours). Other tasks and assignments as directed by the Safety Director. Daily functions - Visit projects from north Seattle to Blaine & Forks to Yakima in a company provided vehicle to provide support and mentoring which may include safety meetings, safety observations, incident investigation and reviews, compliance matters, immediate corrective actions, customer request and overall promote our safety program and culture. Identify project needs, assess, procure, and deliver project safety items/supplies. Manages assigned small claims and works with insurance carriers and/or claimants. Maintaining safety equipment for operations and facility use. Adjusts daily plans/schedule in response to emergent needs. Required Skills & Abilities: Advanced knowledge of regulatory safety codes Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others Dealing with confidential situations - medical or proprietary in nature Excellent verbal and written communication skills A mindset of proactiveness and continuous improvement for safety General ability to read, interpret and understand plans, specifications, and contracts Technical instrumentation and industrial hygiene familiarity Must have a satisfactory driving record Ability to travel to other divisions (Port Angeles and Yakima) Education and Experience: A 2 to 4-year certificate or degree from an accredited school of higher education is preferred. 3+ years construction experience with minimum 1 year in Heavy Civil Construction. Professional Safety Certification preferred. Certification(s) or other applicable qualifications in Construction Safety and Training ex: OSHA 500, OSHA 30, HAZWOPPER 40, First Aid & CPR Knowledge & Experience in excavation, trenching, shoring, confined spaces, and fall protection. Experience with Military Bases safety protocols would be preferred. Required experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of DOSH/WISHA and workers compensation programs. Valid Washington State Driver license with clean driving abstract for company vehicle. Compensation Range : The salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values. A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience. $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 Annually DOE Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in a variety of locations and conditions depending on the construction sites. Work performed in construction site job trailers and outdoors for the general hours. Environmental changes during seasons. High level of noise from heavy equipment usage. This position will travel to view projects with a company vehicle. Physical Requirements: Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather. Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch and must frequently use fine hand manipulation (keyboarding). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. At times, may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
