Description LifeSource is hiring a Safety Program Manager to be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and policies to create a safe and healthy work environment for employees, patients, and visitors. This is a vital role in ensuring the organization complies with all safety, health, regulatory, and environmental regulations. As a Safety Program Manager, you'll advance our life-saving work by driving effective project coordination and execution on cross-departmental process improvement initiatives to support advancing organ, eye, and tissue donation goals. This includes: Developing, implementing, and managing the safety and compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Providing safety training to employees, including new employee orientation and required ongoing training sessions. Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities. Collaborating with department managers to address safety concerns and implement solutions. Remaining up to date with changes in safety regulations and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant. Developing a training program for safety and situational awareness, focusing on near-misses and proactive identification of high-risk areas. Implementing and lead the Safety Committee to support and govern the safety and security needs of the organization. Partnering with the Metro Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition as LifeSource representative. Supporting and executing the emergency management plan, regulations, policies, procedures, and systems. Partnering with relevant colleagues to ensure annual training of equipment and emergency evacuation training, fire drills, and readiness drills related to emergency response and safety/ occupational health. Managing the fire, safety, and security programs including annual testing of systems. Testing includes, but is not limited to RPZ testing, fire system, sprinkler system, and generator. Managing work processes, procedures, and training compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency policies and standards (OSHA, FDA, AATB, etc.). Managing the annual audit and compliance process for immunizations and N95 mask fitting for required LifeSource Team members. Scheduling and managing the annual Covid and Influenza vaccination clinic for team members. Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years of Safety, Emergency Management, Regulatory and/or Compliance responsibilities. Prefer certification in Safety or Emergency Management (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST) Prefer related professional experience in a healthcare setting. Project management and execution. Knowledge and ability to execute on OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Must maintain a valid driver license and have reliable personal automobile to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Organized with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Proven, skilled, and competent in using technology-based tools and applications such as mobile devices, and electronic medical record systems as appropriate for position. Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information including, but not limited to, personal team member data, organizational operations or work processes, donor and donor family information, contributor details, any financial information and medical or protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Proven skilled and competent in using technology-based tools such as personal computers and related software, mobile devices, and electronic medical record systems, as appropriate for position. SCHEDULE/WORKING CONDITIONS Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a schedule adjusted to accommodate organizational needs. Typical hours will be Monday - Friday within the hours of 8am-5pm; additional flexibility may be needed due to organizational business needs. Primary work to be done in Minneapolis and Rochester, MN. Other travel within the service area (MN, ND, SD) by ground or air, as needed, and occasionally to national events and meetings. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs. Must be able to follow and successfully complete category immunization, health screening and background check requirements.
