East Coast Risk Management is a consulting firm specializing in Safety, Human Resources and Claim Management . Our team is seeking new team members to help fuel our growth and provide superior service to our valued clients. We currently have an opportunity for a Safety Intern working out of our North Huntingdon, PA office. The Safety Intern provides clients and safety consultants with support activities and services. The Safety Intern completes site safety inspections, assists with the development of policies and programs as well as completes various department administrative functions. Specific tasks include but are not limited to (with supervision and support from existing staff): Shadow and learn from the existing safety consultants. Occasionally facilitate monthly safety committee meetings of clients. Complete job site and facility inspections and reports. Assists Safety Consultants and Sr. Safety Consultants with employee training and development on a variety of safety topics. Establishes machine specific lock out tag out procedures. Develop of company specific JSAs or HSAs Processes as develops training materials and issues certificates/cards for the Sr. Safety Consultants and Safety Consultants. Develops toolbox talks. Rebrands training materials. Create site specific safety manuals as needed for clients. Reviews and completes SDS books. Other special projects as assigned. Successful candidates will also possess the following knowledge skills & abilities: Knowledge OSHA General Industry and/or Construction standards Workers' compensation insurance Root Cause Analysis accident investigations Skills & Abilities Strong Interpersonal skills Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills Organizational and time management skills Problem solving and analytical skills Training and presentation skills Ability to be flexible and adapt to the dynamic nature of the position Ability to foster and maintain relationships Successful candidates must have completed or be working towards the completion of a bachelor's degree in safety sciences or a related field.
