Role Summary: This person is responsible for day-to-day application of safety engineering concepts through continualinteraction with a wide range of Team Members. This includes process improvements such as methodimprovements, creating optimum operating conditions, and a focus on risk reduction to Team Members.Similar to a production engineer, this position has a hands-on, highly interactive process improvementemphasis involving opportunities for supervisory and leadership experiences. Enjoy instructing people in value of safety and safety culture. Accountable for: Knowledgeable and proficient in the PI manufacturing process. Analyzes and recommends process improvements, manufacturing methods & tooling related to safety through structured methods such as Job Hazard Analyses. Prepares and evaluates feasibility of machine design changes & coordinates such modification projects while working closely with Production Engineering. Provides proposals including design for improvements in safety, quality, and productivity. Leads or is part of interdepartmental teams to improve safe working practices. Strives to optimize operating conditions and resolve problem areas for routine tasks. Delivers safety training and audits employees on safe work practices. Selects, mentors & prepares intern projects. Displays standard operating procedure knowledge with exceptional attention to detail. Performs other special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an Industrial Safety Related field is required. BS in an engineering discipline is highly desired. 1-2 years of practical experience in a manufacturing setting as part of safety team, or safety leader. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of seated work Prolonged periods of standing work Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to frequently lift 15-25 lbs. Occasional repetitious tasks with upper extremities Frequent keyboard use/data entry Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment Plastic Ingenuity is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
