Room Leader Childcare Practitioner Job Type: Full time, permanent Location: Royston, G21 2QA Salary: A GBP 22,425 per annum The Role The Nursery provides cost: effective extended childcare services of exceptional quality for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. The Nursery Room Leader is a qualified childcare professional who is responsible for the day to day running of the room. They perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and sharing their skills and knowledge with colleagues. The nursery room leader should take a creative and reflective leadership role with the ability to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the services management team. Key Responsibilities To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children. To ensure that all St Rochs policies, procedures and daily routines are adhered to positively and effectively. To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your designated room, organising systems and practices to ensure consistent, high: quality care. To be vigilant and report any concerns immediately and in accordance with the Safeguarding and Child Protection and Whistle Blowing policies. Reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day. To lead the planning and provision of a stimulating range of age: appropriate activities and ensuring the room is well resourced and creatively set up. To oversee and ensure that all records and observations of childrens learning are kept up to date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively, including children with additional support needs Ensure that the preparation, care and maintenance of the room setting, and equipment are carried out according to policy, procedures and regular risk backssments.
